The NFL season is roaring along so fast. This weekend we have some extremely close games. No fewer than 6 games are predicted to end up within 3 points according to Vegas odds makers.
Most interesting to the Football Shrink will be whether the Falcons hang in there with the Steelers. The metrics show that Atlanta should cover, but nobody else in the world is saying that. We shall soon see.
The Jaguars on the road against Kansas City should also be epic. While I personally like the Chiefs, the line of Jacksonville +3.5 was too hard to resist, so I took it and the system supports this pick.
Finally, the Raiders +6 seemed too good to pass up even though most models have the Chargers destroying this struggling team by much more than 6.
So, the Football Shrink appears to have stuck his neck out on the line this week, but that is the nature of handicapping. You cannot follow the popular trends or the media pundits or you will get killed. You have to stay true to your own findings.
Another game that I will be watching, since I am in South Florida, is the Dolphins/Bengals. A lot of people are thinking that the Dolphins will cover, but I am very concerned about my local helmeted heroes after how they laid a total egg last week in New England 7-38 while the Bengals are explosive offensively and often tough on defense!
Enjoy the games today and tomorrow!
